Ceramic Implants

Modern Solution for Metal-Free Implants

Ceramic implants offer a metal-free, compatible solution for dental implant treatments. They consist of biocompatible high-performance ceramics and are characterized by excellent tissue compatibility and low plaque adhesion – ideal conditions for long-term stable implant care.

Ceramic implants are used particularly when a metal-free solution is desired for personal or health reasons – for example, as part of biologically oriented dentistry, which relies on completely metal-free materials, or in cases of proven or suspected metal intolerance. We will always make the choice of implant material in close consultation with you – based on medical criteria, the individual tissue situation, and your personal preferences. Before an implantation, a titanium stimulation test (TST) can be performed upon request to detect possible intolerances early. This process requires a blood sample and cooperation with an outside laboratory to determine if your immune system exhibits an increased inflammatory response when in contact with titanium particles. If so, we will refrain from using titanium implants and opt for ceramic instead.
