Soft Tissue Augmentation/Management
Healthy Gums for Long-Term Implant Success
A secure hold for dental implants requires not only sufficient bone substance, but also healthy, resilient soft tissue. If the gums have receded or have been affected by diseases such as periodontitis, the long-term stability of an implant may be at risk. In such cases, we perform targeted soft tissue augmentation measures at IMPLA·VIO in Berlin – before, during, or after the implantation.
Various techniques are used to thicken or stabilize the soft tissue. If necessary, we transplant the patient’s own tissue – either as a free gingival graft (FGG) or as a connective tissue graft (CTG) from the palate. Alternatively, we work with xenogeneic connective tissue substitutes (from animal tissue, e.g., NovoMatrix®), which can be used in a particularly tissue-friendly manner.
Soft Tissue Management – Integrated into the Implantological Treatment Plan
Soft tissue augmentation is precisely planned at IMPLA·VIO – based on modern imaging and an individually tailored therapy concept. In many cases, the soft tissue is optimized during the implantation process, though sometimes it is addressed in a preliminary procedure. This allows us to promote stable tissue integration, good cleanability, and a natural-looking, aesthetic result.
