Soft Tissue Management

Targeted Gum Reconstruction and Protection

Soft tissue plays a significant role in maintaining the health of teeth and the periodontium. The soft tissue in the mouth includes all soft structures surrounding the teeth, jaw, and oral cavity – including the mobile oral mucosa and the attached gingiva. If, for example, the gums are too thin, receded, or not sufficiently attached, their protective function can only be partially fulfilled. At IMPLA·VIO, we improve the quality and quantity of the mucosa through targeted soft tissue surgical measures.

Through a free mucosal graft (FMG) or connective tissue graft (CTG) – depending on the indication – the gums can be widened, thickened, or stabilized using the patient’s own tissue (autologous). Alternatively, we use xenogeneic connective tissue (material from animal tissue) such as NovoMatrix®, which integrates particularly gently. The goal is to prevent inflammation, avoid recessions, and facilitate long-term oral hygiene.

Soft Tissue: Functional, Stable, and Healthy in the Long Term

Optimized soft tissue protects the underlying structures, enables better cleaning, and contributes to aesthetic harmony. This applies particularly to patients with periodontal diseases or sensitive tissue conditions. In these cases, periodontal surgical care with soft tissue management is an effective complement to conservative therapy. The procedure is gentle, precise, and individually planned – supported by modern technology and many years of experience in periodontics.
