Removal of Infected/Dead Bone Tissue

Removal of Necrotic Tissue or Foreign Material

In cases of inflammation in the jawbone or after surgical procedures, necrotic tissue fragments (sequestra) may be rejected. These tissue fragments must be removed to allow the affected region to heal. Deep-seated foreign bodies in soft or hard tissue—such as remnants of root filling material or screws—can also cause discomfort. Sequestrectomy is used for targeted foreign body removal and is an important sub-area of oral surgery at IMPLA·VIO in Berlin. The aim is to remove the inflamed tissue as gently as possible while preserving healthy structures.

Precise Foreign Body Removal – Biologically Compatible

At our practice in Berlin-Friedenau, we perform sequestrectomies using modern 3D imaging to accurately assess the location and extent of the sequestrum or foreign body and to plan the surgical removal in a targeted way. After removal, thorough cleaning is carried out, followed by regeneration using PRF treatment (autologous blood treatment). Our biological treatment approach places particular emphasis on well-tolerated materials, tissue-sparing procedures, and controlled wound healing.
